Mentoring Services for Translators
Sometimes we all need a mentor to give us a helping hand in life. If you’re an up-and coming translator trying to find your way in the world, let me be your mentor.
As solopreneurs who often work alone, sometimes it’s useful to have a fellow freelance translator who you can trust to talk to about where you want to go with your freelance translation business. Particularly if you’re new to the industry. That’s where I come in.
I want to be the first port of call for up-and-coming translators who need a mentor to turn to for advice on anything from freelancing to the work itself. We can talk about translation projects, developing your niche or how to develop your client base. Or we can dig deeper into the other skills you need to run a successful freelance translation business. I’m happy to talk shop about rates, your terms of business and payment terms, as well as time management and client care.
From one language lover to another, let’s take the opportunity to chat about translation and put the world to rights over a cuppa.
Still not convinced? Here’s what freelance translator Chloe Stout had to say about my mentoring services:
“Nicole’s knowledge and experience of being a freelance translator were invaluable to me when I first decided to take the leap into freelancing. She talked me through how to get clients, prices and motivated me to make my business work for me. If you are new to translation or thinking about freelancing, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her. My business wouldn’t be where it is today without her help and support! Thanks, Nicole!”
Why not try my mentoring programme on for size with one of my free taster sessions?
It was such a pleasant session, I didn’t see the hour go by! All the subjects I wanted to address were covered. Nicole has thoroughly prepared for our call. Thanks to that, I left the session with a clear action plan to implement before the next session. The mentoring gives me the accountability I needed. And it’s also very motivating to be able to speak with a mentor who has such great experience and really understands what I need, even though I’m at the beginning of my freelancing journey.
I had the opportunity to participate in Nicole’s Mentoring Monday programme. Meeting her and talking to her was absolutely amazing. She is a professional and super kind translator, wishing to share her knowledge with translators who are just starting out. Her tips were really useful, she gave me some very good ideas and suggestions, and she also helped me become more confident in myself and in my career. I totally recommend her! Thank you Nicole!
The session was smooth and extremely interesting, you can easily tell that Nicole has a lot of experience and a great aura. I really enjoyed the transparency and the honesty. We talked about rates as it seems to be a taboo topic among translators. I would recommend Nicole to anyone who wants to broaden their horizons.
Talking to Nicole was really pleasant and helpful. She gave me useful advice but, most importantly, she listened to me and to my story, which is something we’re probably not very used to – customising is the key.
Nicole, you were so lovely and reassuring, you really put my mind at ease! it’s definitely given me the boost in motivation I need to get this freelancing off the ground.

Nicole was very candid throughout our chat, always helpful and eager to share her experience. She was constantly encouraging me to ask any questions I had, as well as address my biggest fears and worries about freelancing. She had a friendly and helpful answer for everything and got me even more excited about embarking on the freelancing journey. She comes armed with cheer, tons of tips and tricks and a deep knowledge of the industry.

Such a friendly chat! Very well structured as well as we got to know each other before talking about my goals and how to reach them. Thank you for your kindness and thoughtfulness. I would definitely recommend a session to a new freelancer.
